Peeling Skin with Vitamin A to Balance Skin Energy and Redirect Toxic Cellular Accumulations
Saturday, March 27 11:30am–12:30pm
Toxic accumulations interfere with cell communication; disturb DNA, RNA and protein synthesis; and generally impede vital chemical processes. Free radicals are known to attack the structure of cell membranes, which then create metabolic waste products in the cells and cause skin to age. Retinyl palmitate (vitamin A) is a transforming free radical scavenger that induces healthy differentiation and the apoptosis, or programmed cell death, of aged cells, helping facilitate strong cell renewal. The membrane theory of aging refers to the cell becoming less of a lipid and more solid in structure, impeding efficiency for the skin to function normally. Skin depends on vitamin A, a lipid-soluble antioxidant, for the function of all biologic membranes.
