classes: Laura J. Goodman, M.S. has spent more than 10 years in skin care technology research and development at the Procter & Gamble Company in Cincinnati. She has designed and conducted research for the identification of functional cosmetic ingredients that exhibit skin benefits, specifically in the areas of skin anti-aging, pigmentation and tone. Goodman is an expert in biological target identification and assay development in both in situ and in vitro model systems, utilizing such tools as immunohistochemistry, genomics and proteomics. She also has experience in the design and placement of human clinical research studies for the evaluation of skin care ingredients and their biological effects on skin. Goodman is a 2008–2009 member of the Skin Inc. magazine editorial advisory board.
