Peter T. Pugliese, MD, is a biomedical consultant to the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. His major research interest in normal skin physiology and the mechanisms of aging led to the development of his professional skin care line, Circadia by Dr. Pugliese. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, and he is the author of several books, including Physiology of the Skin II: An Expanded Scientific Guide for the Skin Care Professional (Allured Publishing, 2001). He also is a 2008–2009 member of the Skin Inc. magazine editorial advisory board.
